Mabuhay Winter in Korea

Korea is geographically positioned in a temperate climate zone at medium latitude. As a result, it has four different seasons. In general, spring is from March to May, summer from June to August, autumn from September to November, and winter from December to February. Winter in Korea is usually between December and February, with the average temperature in January, the coldest month, ranging between minus six degrees and three degrees Celsius.

Let me give you few reasons why winter is the perfect season to visit Korea. First off, you can go skiing or snowboarding since Korea is a mountainous country, so it's just natural to have skiing and snowboarding as a pastime to take advantage of the landscape. And you don't have to worry about the equipment because you can rent from there.

After of those few adventurous activities, relaxing at Jimjilbang, is a must, it is a Korean-style bathhouse. These bathhouses usually include hot tubs, saunas, and warm on-the-floor sleeping rooms. Nudity is mandatory in some bathhouses, genders separated, of course. Or have a romantic walk with your partner at Namsan Tower. During the winter months, the streets are decorated with beautiful illuminations and romance is in the air. Take a trip to Namsan tower, or the Cheongyecheon stream, where couples love go on walks. Or visit one of many natural hot springs that are frequented destination during the winter time.

Another destination that’s just 90 minutes from Seoul is Nami Island. The half-moon shaped islet in the midst of the Bukhangang River became a pilgrimage site for many Asian tourists. You can enjoy Nami Island’s natural beauty and many attractions even during winter. Don’t miss your vacation in Korea without visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace, built in 1395, is also commonly referred to as the Northern Palace. Give yourself at least an hour to stroll around the pavilions and halls within the palace's spacious walled grounds.
